Spring Flowers!

Recently picked up some spring flowers to plant into pots in the backyard. Super excited when I saw two of my most favorite flowers! Poppies & Ranunculus.

Lemon Herb Tilapia

This was dinner the other night, Lemon Herb Tilapia.
The fish rests on top of some dirty rice and a side of pepper-jack cheese broccoli.
All I did was season the fish with salt, pepper & lemon pepper.
For the broccoli, I melted pepper-jack cheese with broccoli florets and it tasted spicy ;)

BBQ Seasoned Pork

Sometimes during the week it's easy to just put something tasty on the George Foreman grill and cook quick!

We picked up this already seasoned pork at the grocery store. The seasonings on it looked/smelled like garlic, paprika, salt/pepper and couple of other seasonings. Normally we season our own meat, but this meat was a good price and took some preparation time out of the equation.

I put each slab of seasoned pork onto the George Foreman grill and let it cook. I'm not sure if the green light has anything to do with cook time, but usually when the light turns back to green- our meat is cooked. I always check to make sure.

While the meat was cooking, I put some whole green beans into a pan and steamed them with olive oil and the lid on with 2 cloves of garlic. After they were steamed, I added chopped garlic, salt/pepper, italian seasoning and some garlic powder. After they sautéed a bit, I sprinkled parmesan cheese and put the lid on top with the stove turned off. 

We made some white rice to go with it all.

Turned out tasty!

Decorating for Spring

Simply changing the napkins and placemats- adding a couple of gold chargers- is a quick and simple way to decorate for the spring. In the middle I put some fresh cut red tulips and placed them in my wine bottle vase.

My Classroom Elf 2013

Here are a few pictures of what my elf Belle, did in my classroom this Holiday season.
When she first arrived, she brought a note with her. At the end of her visit, she left the classroom a goodbye note. My students were so excited to have her visit this year.

My students earn blue tickets for their good behavior in which they can turn in for coupons. We found Belle stamping snowflakes into some tickets!

On this day, Belle wrapped the kids a small ornament as a gift to our class. She ended up wrapping up more than just the ornament!

Today, Belle left a small note... Notice the fun craft we did behind her! I made the kids salt-dough gingerbread men ornaments with twine . They painted them and were able to take them home after their Holiday party. 

On the edge of my desk, Belle went fishing for goldfish. 

This was Belle's last day. She made a small Holiday paper chain and left a goodbye note.

Cookie Recipes

These are a couple of great recipes for any occasion. I absolutely love the sea salt and caramel cookie recipe because of the delicious base. I substitute different mix-ins to change up the type of cookie.
The other recipe is for tasty gingerbread cookies! I decorated them with royal icing :)
