Butter London Palette

This Christmas my parents got me this Butter London Palette from Ulta.
They admitted that they went in there not knowing what to look for. When I saw Butter London, I immediately thought of their rich nail polishes. However, I was surprised to find out that it was eye shadow! This palette contains both eye shadow, a blush and a highlighter pen.

I am excited to try out a new look with this palette, but I went ahead and swatched some of the colors.
First of all, the packaging is absolutely stunning. It looks so pretty on the bathroom counter and as an addition to my purse. It's sparkly and looks so fancy! I appreciate how they made the packaging sleek and glamorous. Hints the name, "glitz and glamour".

The palette includes 4 neutral colors, 2 mattes, 1 satin and 1 glitter. The dark shade does have glitter, but does not look glittery or full of fall out. When I swatched the color, I noticed the glitter reflected some light, but was more matte than glittery.

The picture does not give this highlighter justice. It reflects an iridescent glow and adds a perfect shimmer to the top of your cheekbones.

Overall, I am impressed with Butter London's palette as I think nail polish when I think of their brand. Simply gorgeous!

Mandu 만두

I found a great recipe on my new favorite Korean recipe website Cooking with Maangchi.
There I found a fantastic recipe for Mandu 만두.

I went ahead and posted the ingredients. I posted pictures below of the ones I made! To go to the complete recipe and directions with pictures, go to the website link I have posted above. They are absolutely DELICIOUS! I made a huge batch and froze the meat along with some of the already made mandu to just heat up.

New Makeup Favorites

It's almost summer time and I love playing around with my makeup and trying new looks. Using NYX intense butter gloss, it paired well with a neutral eye look. The consistency of these glosses are super smooth, hence the name "butter".

The products I used are listed below:

NYX intense butter gloss in Funnel Delight
Loreal Infallible PRO-MATTE 300 Nude beige
Wet n Wild Coloricon Ombre Blush in PURPLE HAZE
NYX Matte Bronzer in Medium

Matcha Green Tea Latte

Whether it's to warm you up on a cold day or wake you up to a new start, nothing tastes as fresh as a creamy decadent Green Tea latte.
There isn't any coffee or a lot of caffeine in this beverage but still has that distinct green tea flavor that will coat the tastebuds in a smooth, velvety texture.

Most sushi places I have ever eaten at have had green tea ice cream as a dessert. Ever since I tried that creamy and delicious frozen dessert I wanted to taste that same rich flavor at home. After the sudden shock of seeing it in the aisle, I had to pick it up (even if it raised the grocery bill a bit). I purchased my Matcha powder from H-E-B right in the tea aisle with all the shelves and shelves of other unique teas. Just as anything else, there are different brands with different price tags. I picked up the one that was priced in the middle of the rest. Matcha was hard to come by in the grocery store and could only be found in certain shops and online. Because I never want to buy food items online, it kept me from purchasing and trying matcha at home. This is my first time to ever try matcha powder and I absolutely love the taste! NOT DISAPPOINTED!

Regular tea:

Heat up some water for 1 min and 20 sec in the microwave and add 1 tsp of matcha and Viola! A cup of rich green tea to calm the nerves.

Creamy green tea:

Add 2 tsp of sugar (I used regular) and 1 tsp of matcha in a mug

Add 3 tbsp of warm water to the mug and stir until sugar and powder has dissolved

Warm up 1 cup of regular or almond milk over the stove or in the microwave

Combine into the mug and whisk together

Creamy Frap:

Complete the recipe above using cold milk and blend with 1/2 cup of ice. Adjust the amount of ice to the texture you prefer.

Enjoy!

Our Wedding

It was great to share our special day with friends and family. Aside from the minister being late and mispronouncing our name... the cake sure made up for it. We got our cake from Virginia's Cakes. The cake was incredibly moist and decadent. The photographers were great at blending in with the group and taking as many photos as possible. We're still waiting on the majority of the pictures but they will get here soon! It was Memorial Day weekend and the weather was supposed to be a washout. We were lucky that it didn't rain until that evening after the wedding. The photographers were able to take a lot of outdoor photos. My garden was blooming and I was glad that it made the perfect backdrop for our photos. Officially changed my name yesterday and it's still something I'm going to have to get used to!

Dinner Date

This is what I wore for a dinner date with my Husband's family.
We went to McCormick & Schmick's and I had the grilled shrimp and steak with a glass of Merlot. Absolutely DELICIOUS dinner! It was nice to spend time with family and have a tasty meal.

The heels are the BRASH heels from Payless
The pants are basic black skinny pants (not jeans)
And the top is a silk top I found at Marshalls by Cynthia Rowley
I bought the necklace from The Loft. They have GREAT necklaces & prices at the outlet mall.
The bow clutch is from Kohls in the Vera Wang collection.

Summer Wreath

It was time to make a new wreath for the door. It's always nice to have options and have the ability to make something yourself than buy it!
The front door needed a splash of purple as our front garden flowers are shades of lilac and plum.

All of the supplies were bought at Michaels Craft store and I spent around $20.00 to make the entire wreath!

-Grapevine wreath
-Hydrangea purple/white flowers
-Chevron burlap bow
-Twine and Last Initial wooden letter
